Treat live data as a timeline

  • A single PID value is rarely enough. Record several related parameters under the same condition.
  • Compare target, actual value, controller command and physical result on one time base.

Choose PID groups by system logic

  • For air/fuel faults, MAF/MAP, lambda/O2, fuel trims, rail pressure and load become meaningful together.
  • For transmission faults, correlate input/output speed, ratio, temperature and solenoid/clutch commands.
  • For network faults, record module communication state, system voltage and companion U-codes.
