Which systems should be separated?

  • Evaluate fuel supply, rail target/actual pressure, injector balance, charge-air path and EGR/DPF/SCR in the same event capture.
  • A boost fault is not just the turbo; separate leaks, wastegate/VGT, vacuum/electric control, MAF/MAP and exhaust backpressure.
  • Do not interpret DPF soot/ash, differential pressure, EGT, NOx, SCR dosing and EGR in isolation.

Evidence collection sequence

  1. Capture low-pressure supply, rail target/actual, MAF/MAP, boost and exhaust temperature during crank and load.
  2. Compare pressure, temperature, soot load and NOx conversion before/after regeneration in the same drive.

Risk of false generalization

  • Without leak and actuator-command verification, a healthy turbo can be replaced unnecessarily.
