Measurement and decision sequence

1. Do not generalize fluid specification before confirming the exact engine/transmission/driveline variant.
2. Record fluid temperature, condition/odor, contamination and leak source, not only level.
3. Compare filter, venting, cooler and thermostat behavior with service history.
4. On DCT/DSG, separate clutch adaptation from mechatronic hydraulic/fluid condition.
5. On CVT, verify the correct fluid family, fill temperature and ratio/pressure behavior together.

Misdiagnosis traps

• Using mileage alone and ignoring severe-use/climate conditions.
• Using universal fluid/additive without the required OEM approval.
